Getting There
Where to fly into
Although Arezzo does not have an international airport, it is within easy travel distance by train or car from a few major airports. Our advice is to find the best ticket price (or your preferred first stop) and take the train into Arezzo. Which airport is cheapest will often depend on which US airport you will be flying from.
- Florence - 1 Hour by train or car
- Bologna - 1.5 Hours by train
- Rome - 3 Hours by train
- Milan - 3.5 Hours by train
Finding Flights
Here are some useful tools we used to find flights.
- Google Flights - Find the best dates and track prices
- Secret Flying - Check often for great deals
- Scott' Cheap Flights - Have to sign up, but some really great finds
- Flyer Talk - Dense, but lots of great info
Flying home
Make sure to give yourself a travel day for flying back. Most flights leave early in the morning, and there most likely will not be enough time to get to the airport for a flight on the day after the wedding.
Travelling Within Italy
By TraiN
Although Italy is a little more..."laid back" than other countries in Europe, it is still in Europe. Which means one thing... EXCELLENT TRAIN SYSTEMS!!!! (Please tell me at least one of you is as excited about this as I am).
The national rail system in Italy is the Trenitalia system, but other private companies also operate some special high speed tracks. Such as the high speed Frecciarossa co-owned by Ferrari.
Here are two videos on how to buy tickets in Italy for trains. Will update with more information as time gets closer!
By Car
